One row per group of BigQuery tables, carrying storage size and cost as they stand now. A request that also asks how recently or how often the tables were read joins that activity in, and then requires a bounded range on day.
Returns one row per combination of the requested dimensions, carrying the requested measures. Each row is keyed by dimension and measure name. row_count is the number of rows in items: results are not paginated, so an aggregation with more rows than limit is cut short at limit rather than continued under a page_token. Send X-Team-Id to evaluate the query as a team you belong to; rows are then limited to what that team’s roles reach.
Use this route for the BigQuery tables as they are now: the largest and costliest tables, datasets and projects, the tables that nobody reads, and the cost of each billing model. Each source row is one table in the latest storage snapshot. The *_monthly_cost and *_annual_cost fields are run-rates: the current bytes at the current storage rate, in dollars per month or per year. They are not spend in a period, and a day range does not bound them. For storage spend in a period, use bigquery-storage-spend.
total_bytes, total_monthly_cost and the active_* and long_term_* fields follow the dataset’s storage_billing_model (LOGICAL or PHYSICAL). The *_logical_* and *_physical_* fields give one model for every table, whichever model it uses. The fields day, user_name, number_queries, number_of_users and user_names join the snapshot to query activity. Then the request must have a top-level bounded range on day, or it returns 422. Use day only as a filter: the joined rows have no date to group by. The SELECT app’s Storage page applies table_type in ["BASE TABLE"]. Without it, clones and snapshots count at their full base-table size.

Storage itself is a snapshot: every row describes the tables as they stand
now, and a request that asks only about storage needs no date range and
cannot report a trend. Naming a field that only means something once access
activity is joined in — day, user_name, number_queries,
number_of_users, user_names — joins it, and then the request does need a
bounded range on day.
Categorize against these set definitions instead of the organization's saved usage group sets, for evaluating a set before saving it. Omit to use the saved sets, which is what every other surface reports against.
